All it takes is one split second to shatter the lives of many. And in that one split second an impaired driver on June 28, 2024 tragically ended the life of 26 year old Andrew DiDomenico while he was working for the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

A lifelong resident of Meriden, Andrew graduated from Wilcox Technical High School and was proud of his accomplishment in obtaining his Commercial Driving License (CDL). Since the age of 16, Andrew had a strong work ethic and loved to save for his future. By the time he was 23, Andrew purchased a three family home- an amazing accomplishment at such a young age and one he was most proud of.

Andrew loved his family, friends, and family dogs. Andrew touched so many lives and the outpouring of support his family received from friends near and far was a true testament to the remarkable life he lead and the indelible impression he made on everyone he met in his short life. While he worked hard, he also played hard. His love of sports was deep – from the New York Yankees, to the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Duke Basketball. Andrew loved playing golf, pickleball, cornhole and of course, fantasy football.

Andrew loved his job with the Connecticut DOT and his co-workers. With a genuine desire to learn and succeed, he frequently volunteered for additional responsibilities and was eager to become qualified to operate different types of machinery. His strong work ethic earned admiration from both colleagues and family, who took great pride in his commitment to serving the community and the State of Connecticut.

The Andrew DiDomenico Memorial Foundation was created by Sal and Shari DiDomenico in honor of their cherished son, Andrew, and by his beloved sister Vincenza DiDomenico.

Make each moment matter. We never know how important each moment is when we’re in it, until we realize it was our last.
